A Call to All The Filipinos in Philippines and Abroad: Scrap The PhilHealth Circular No. 022

The Migrante Middle East petition said, “The hike in OFWs health insurance premium will not only bleed us (OFWs and dependents) dry, it also sucks out our blood leading ‘to death due to deprivation of free and affordable social services’. The government through various agencies is killing us so softly by imposing additional fees in pretense of better social services.”

The Migrante Middle East is appealing to all fellow OFWs around the world, their dependents, friends and OFWs advocates to join their campaign by signing the petition and help pass it on to others and urge them to "Scrap Philippine Health Circular No. 022 – this is about the increase of PhilHealth annual premium contribution from P900 to P2,400 which will effect on July 1, 2012.

I searched out the names of the Board of Directors of PhilHealth and to know also if the said PhilHealth Circular No. 022 is approved by all the board of directors but unfortunately out of 14 members only one has affixed his signature to PhilHealth Circular No. 022 in the named of Dr. Eduardo P. Banzon and the other name who also signed her signature was not in the list or not in the list of Executive Officers. The PhilHealth Board of Directors are as follows:

  1. Board Chair: Hon. Enrique T. Ona, M.D.
  2. CSC Chairman: Hon. Francisco T. Duque III, M.D., MSc
  3. DILG Secretary: Hon. Jesse M. Robredo
  4. DSWD Secretary: Hon. Corazon J. Soliman
  5. DOLE Secretary: Hon. Rosalinda D. Baldoz
  6. Health Care Providers Sector: Hon. Juan M. Flavier, M.D.
  7. Labor Sector: Hon. Alexander A. Ayco, M.D.
  8. Employers Sector/President and Chief Executive Officer: Hon. Dr. Eduardo P. Banzon
  9. Self Employed Sector: Hon. Francisco Vicente F. Lopez M.D.
  10. SSS President & CEO: Hon. Emilio S. De Quiros, Jr.
  11. GSIS President & General Manager: Hon. Robert G. Vergara
  12. NAPC-BS Vice Chairman: Hon. Florencia P. Cabatingan
  13. Filipino Overseas Workers: Hon. Jane M.N. Sta. Ana
  14. Corporate Secretary: Atty. Genesis M. Adarlo

Obviously, the PhilHealth Circular No. 022 was created by two people in named of Dr. Eduardo P. Banzon and MA. TERESA A. QUIAGIT and approved by them without the approval of other Board Members and other Executive Officers of PhilHealth. It was created on December 15, 2011. The said circular is not only addressed to the 11 million+ OFWs around the world but also to all the Filipinos in Philippines. To read the said Circular No. 022 visit the link PhilHealth Circular No. 022.

The said PhilHealth Circular No. 022 is believed by Filipinos in Philippines including the 11 million+ OFWs as against the REPUBLIC ACT No. 10022 – AN ACT AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8042, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE MIGRANT WORKERS AND OVERSEAS FILIPINOS ACT OF 1995, AS AMENDED, FURTHER IMPROVING THE STANDARD OF PROTECTION AND PROMOTION OF THE WELFARE OF MIGRANT WORKERS, THEIR FAMILIES AND OVERSEAS FILIPINOS IN DISTRESS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Under the RULE XVII: MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS – Section 4. Government Fees, Administrative Costs and Taxes. All fees for services being charged by any government agency on migrant workers prevailing at the time of the effectivity of this Rule shall not be increased. This RA No. 10022 was officially approved and signed by the former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on March 08, 2010.

The Migrante Middle East said “We are targeting 1-M signatures by July 2012, the supposed start of imposing PhilHealth premium of P2,400 from the current P900. With our position paper, we will send the signatures to President Noynoy Aquino and to the PhilHealth Board members, members of the Senate and House of Representatives.”

As of this writing there are already 502 Filipinos have joined the petition and yet still very far to 1-M target-ted signatures – so if you are Filipinos living in Philippines and Abroad you are hereby invited to join the said petition – go to this link No to PhilHealth Premium Increase Scrap Circular No. 022. And if possible share this call to your family, relatives, friends and friends of friends around the world!

You can also visit American Censorship Site for details on how you can show your support and to join the worldwide protest – if you wanted to protect your online security and enjoy your freedom of expression. Now twitter is flooded with tweets of “Vote NO to SOPA and PIPA”. The protest will last until Jan 24, 2012 – the US Senate vote date. This is the largest protest ever in history!

Websites are getting their monthly revenues from net users. Every time you visited a site – to read an article, stories or to watch movies, musical videos and other things that interest you – you contribute a little portion of their income.

Business companies will not advertise their products on a site that does not get views. And no websites will exist longer without visitors. These websites need you – so why not use them for your online income, too! Become a wise Internet user.

Many websites are widely used not only for socializing but also for business purposes. Now many colleges and universities are already offering different courses available online such as accounting, banking and finance, article writing, short story writing, Network marketing training and seminars and many more.

Internet had become a vast place for anything to share and a vast place where to find your online income. There are thousands of thirsty and hungry websites publishers who are looking for fresh ideas and other contributions about anything under the merciless sun from people around the globe. They are there willing to pay for your articles, photos, videos, stories, poems and other interesting things that you can offer to them.

How many times you watched movies and musical videos on YouTube everyday? How many times you read news stories or e-books online? How many times you watched awesome photos of different places, people, animals, buildings and other interesting things online everyday? How many times you played Internet games at Facebook, Google+ and other game sites everyday? How many times you visited websites to read those interesting articles published everyday? And how long you stayed chatting with your friends online everyday?

All what I mentioned above could be your sources of online money. You can turn them into an earning. The method is simple and easy to follow. What you would need is to enjoy watching them, enjoy reading them, enjoy playing with them and have fun with them. And then take some times to write short reviews about what you saw, what you hear and what you read. Share them at this site or offer them to other paying sites that you know.

Pakistani Women Fly High Up The Blue Skies

Ambreen and Nadia Gul It is said that Fighter pilots must be in optimal health to handle the physical demands of modern aerial warfare. Excellent heart condition is required, as g-forces have a tendency to suck blood away from the brain. Fighter pilots also require strong muscle tissue along the extremities and abdomen, for mounting an anti-G straining maneuver when performing tight turns and other highly accelerated maneuvers. And better-than-average visual acuity is also a valuable asset.

Two Pakistani women have hit their dreams to come true to become fighter pilots. Now they are part of Pakistan history to be remembered from generation to generation as the first two women who can fly high like dragonflies up the blue skies.

These two Pakistani women: Air Force Flight Lt. Ambreen Gul and Flight Lt. Nadia Gul with strong will and determinations successfully passed the training. They did not care what people would say. They said, “It’s a profession of passion. One has to be extremely motivated. We love flying. We love to fly fighter jets – to do something for our country which is very unique.”

Fighter pilots are military aviators trained in air-to-air combat while piloting a fighter aircraft. Fighter pilots undergo specialized training in aerial warfare and dog-fighting. They are one of the most highly-regarded positions in any air force. Selection processes only accept the elite out of all the potential candidates. An individual who possesses an exceptional academic record, physical fitness, healthy well-being, and a strong mental drive will have a higher chance of getting accepted.

As recorded in Pakistan there are only 40% of adult women who are literate. Women are victims of domestic violence and abuse and the country still lacks a law to protect the women against domestic violence. However, in 2006, as recorded, seven women broke into one of Pakistan’s most exclusive male clubs to graduate as fighter pilots – who are considered the most prestigious job in the powerful military for six decades and Ambreen and Nadia are one of them. They are also the women rights fighter too.

Air force Flight Lt. Ambreen Gul who is 26 was married to an engineer from Islamabad which was arranged by their families in the best Pakistani tradition last year. She said that when she waked up on that day which was the International Women’s Day – she will be marrying to a man she has only seen once before and with whom she has barely exchanged a word.

While Air force Flight Nadia Gul who is 27, whose army captain husband is serving on the front line of Pakistan’s war against the Taliban in the wind-swept mountains of Swat, won a prize for academic achievement at PAF’s during the first women fighter pilot graduation. She said that it was history. She was just a girl who went to college and came back home in a great profession. Her families and relative were very fascinated and impressed. Her husband was very supported and proud.

Both Air force Flight Lts. Nadia and Ambreen believe that marriage and in the future – motherhood can complement, not replace a career, provided they have a supportive family.

Triond Views Versus Wikinut Views

Himala

Himala (Image via RottenTomatoes.com)

I admit that Triond and Wikinut are my most loved paying sites among the six paying sites I am writing with – this includes Hubpage, Bukisa, Allvoices and ExpertsColumn. Triond and Wikinut are both showing some amazing views and traffics to my articles pages. Today I compared the two for views and traffics using the same article which was published on both sites and the result they are too far from each other.

The article I used for this experiment was about Ms. Nora Aunor – the Superstar of Philippine Movie and Entertainment Industry. At Triond the article was published on September 17, 2011 entitled The Superstar Nora Aunor is a History and a Living Library of Great Achievements. From the time it was published at Triond to date – it received a total of 499 views with earnings of 0.94 dollar cents. And this is the highest earner article so far out of the 210 articles I have published at Triond.

While at Wikinut the article about Ms. Nora Aunor was published on September 27, 2011 entitled Trivia About The Filipino Superstar Nora Aunor. From the time it was published at Wikinut to date – it received a total of 2,402 views with earnings of 0.120 British pounds. And this is the highest article earner so far out of the 170 articles I have published at Wikinut. At Wikinut I used some photos of La Aunor with some videos of her songs and her remarkable movies like Himala and Minsa’y Isang Gamu-Gamo.

As a matter of fact, I used the same methods of sharing this article to people around the world through the use of social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Stumbleupon, Tumblr, Linkin, My Space, Live Messenger to my blog sites and sending them to search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and other book marking tools. Yes. The article published on both sites garnered an amazing views and traffics but one is less than the other. I just assumed that at Triond there are less Noranians while at Wikinut the Noranians are active with lots of love.

My normal daily views at Triond are between 80 to 120 views for the past six months. And one time my Triond page received 325 views on September 21, 2011. Those were my highest views ever recorded that my Triond page received from the date I started writing with this site on August 14, 2010. And the total views that my Triond page received to date has reached so far to 22, 009 views.

While my normal daily views at Wikinut from the start of January 2011 are between 300 to 400 views. And one time my Wikinut page received 2,429 views on October 10, 2011. Those were my highest views ever recorded that my Wikinut page received from the time I started writing with the site on July 28, 2010. And the total views that my Wikinut page received to date has reached so far to 123,520 views. Now I can say that Wikinut stays on top and yet no other sites break its views records!

Tim Berners-Lee: The World Wide Web - Opportun...

Image by Fräulein Schiller via Flickr

When I found the World Wide Web more than a decade now, I had become addicted with it. And eventually had become my second sweet home and helped eased my longings.

For the past 17 years, I am in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – the homesickness for my family and friends I left in Philippines are my foes. Added that I cannot exercise and practice all of my human rights here as the same as I am in Philippines. In Saudi Arabia, the non-Muslims cannot exercise their religion in public and other human rights as the same as they are in their own countries. However, when I found the World Wide Web I had become addicted with it.

Why Dreams are Important

This simple question “How you can afford things?” allows you to have a bigger and bigger dreams. But you must be aware of people who want to kill your dreams.

There are people who may innocently or not innocently say things to kill your dreams such as:

  1. “You cannot do that.”
  2. “That is too risky. Do you know how many people fail?”
  3. “Don’t be silly. Where do you come up with such ideas?”
  4. “If it is such a good idea, why has not someone else done it before?”
  5. “Oh I tried that years ago. Let me tell you why it would not work.”

They are the people who kill other people’s dreams and people who have given up on their dreams. I would rather suggest – dream big and don’t stop without giving it a chance to come true. Life without dream is boring and dull. Dream will help you mould your future. Dream gives you strength to face the natural world of your choice to reach success in life. Dreams empower you to strive more, to learn more and to do your best to develop your personal power to afford the things you wanted.
